Belmont Cocktail Club pairs hand-crafted cocktails with upscale tapas and small bites in the heart of Belmont. The newly redesigned space brings "a little Palm Springs meets Miami" to Main Street.

The Valentine's Day special: BCC is actually offering two ways to celebrate. First, on February 13th they're honoring Galentine's Day with cocktail and wine specials plus a cheese plate for two. Then on Valentine's Day, you can get two glasses of bubbles, two apps, two entrees, and a dessert board for two for $90. Find the full menu on their Facebook page.

Pro tip: Even if you're not going for the Valentine's Day special, get the dessert board. It's full of several complementary flavors and a unique way to cap off your meal.

The Valentine’s Day special: For $30/pp you get a glass of beer or wine, a cheese & charcuterie plate, a choice of main, and a choice of dessert.

Pro tip: If the weather’s good, plan to dine al fresco on Station’s stone patio.

The Jailhouse Spirit’s + Lounge

23B South Main St, Belmont (behind Old Stone Steakhouse)

In 2017, the aptly named Jailhouse took up residence in the historic, 1960s era Belmont jail. With visible iron bars and historic photos, they’ve stayed true to that theme. Their creative cocktails and enormous whiskey menu make serving time a lot more palatable.

The Valentine’s Day special: The Jailhouse is a great place to start, or cap off, your night out. This year they’re featuring two specialty potable potions: a chocolate lover’s martini and a prosecco cocktail.

Pro tip: Get your whiskey smoked for the ultimate in smoky flavor; not to mention an amazing photo opportunity.

For $125/per couple, you get three courses, a bottle of select wine or two zero-proof cocktails, and a professional photo. The exact menu will depend on what fresh, local ingredients Chef sources.

Pro tip: The recreational alchemists at The Bottle Tree are creative geniuses, so let them know what flavors you like and they’ll concoct a cocktail just for you.

Grape and Barley

1933 Hoffman Rd, Gastonia

Grape and Barley helps expose wine and beer lovers to new styles and producers with every day tastings and organized events. The bottle shop is well stocked with a wide selection to take home what you love. And most of all, it’s a great place to hang out with cozy decor and friendly staff.

The Valentine’s Day special: This one is actually a pre-Valentine’s Day special offered on Wednesday, February 12th. For $15/pp or $20/per couple, enjoy 4 to 5 tastings, including sparkling wine and a bourbon barrel-aged red, each paired with a different chocolate dessert.

Pro tip: Grape and Barley often keeps some higher-end wines in their dispensing machine, so it’s a great chance to try something unusual without committing to a full glass or bottle.
