31 North Main Street, Belmont
Belmont Cocktail Club pairs hand-crafted cocktails with upscale tapas and small bites in the heart of Belmont. The newly redesigned space brings "a little Palm Springs meets Miami" to Main Street.
The Valentine's Day special: BCC is actually offering two ways to celebrate. First, on February 13th they're honoring Galentine's Day with cocktail and wine specials plus a cheese plate for two. Then on Valentine's Day, you can get two glasses of bubbles, two apps, two entrees, and a dessert board for two for $90. Find the full menu on their Facebook page.
Pro tip: Even if you're not going for the Valentine's Day special, get the dessert board. It's full of several complementary flavors and a unique way to cap off your meal.
168 W. Main Street, Gastonia
Barrister’s is located inside the historically renovated Lawyers building. Along with The Esquire Hotel, which occupies the rest of the site, it’s setting a new standard for upscale experiences in downtown Gastonia.
The Valentine’s Day special: A four-course set menu for $48/pp (also available a la carte). Think: crab with black garlic creme fraiche, braised short ribs, and house-made tiramisu. You can download the full Valentine’s Day menu.

4 N Main Street, Belmont
Station, located inside a historic train depot, is a laid back local favorite for craft beer and wine. Their menu includes grilled wings and a list of unexpected nosh-ables like Asian street noodles and naked burritos (served on a bed of cilantro-lime cauliflower rice).
The Valentine’s Day special: For $30/pp you get a glass of beer or wine, a cheese & charcuterie plate, a choice of main, and a choice of dessert.
Pro tip: If the weather’s good, plan to dine al fresco on Station’s stone patio.
23B South Main St, Belmont (behind Old Stone Steakhouse)
In 2017, the aptly named Jailhouse took up residence in the historic, 1960s era Belmont jail. With visible iron bars and historic photos, they’ve stayed true to that theme. Their creative cocktails and enormous whiskey menu make serving time a lot more palatable.
The Valentine’s Day special: The Jailhouse is a great place to start, or cap off, your night out. This year they’re featuring two specialty potable potions: a chocolate lover’s martini and a prosecco cocktail.
Pro tip: Get your whiskey smoked for the ultimate in smoky flavor; not to mention an amazing photo opportunity.
65 Glenway Street, Belmont
AR Workshop is a boutique craft studio that provides everything you need to complete a unique project and have a lot of fun while you do it.
The Valentine’s Day special: On Valentine’s Day, AR is offering projects built for two. Choose from several wood projects like porch signs, a wood tray, or a blanket ladder. Customize your masterpiece and create something special with your special someone. Prices range based on the project.
Pro tip: AR Workshop Belmont is BYOB, so stop at The String Bean and pick up a bottle of wine or your favorite beer on the way in.
170 S. South Street, Gastonia
With a well-curated selection of spirits and wine, a creative and comforting menu, freshly ground coffee, and a welcoming atmosphere, Gaston Pour House has established itself as a go-to spot any time of day.
The Valentine’s Day Special: The Pour House is offering a set menu for $40/per couple available both Friday and Saturday. The deal includes a glass of wine, a shareable cheese plate, a choice of candied pork belly or smoked chicken, and fresh berries with vanilla bourbon whipped cream. The ‘Beeristas’ at Summit know their craft beer. Tell them what you love and they’ll have something for you from either the regularly rotating taps or the well-stocked package store.
The Valentine’s Day special: Summit gets in the mood early with a Birds Fly South tap takeover featuring their Love Birds beer on February 13th. Then on the 14th, Smokin’ Butts food truck will be out front.
Pro tip: Jack Beagles, located across the street, will deliver food from their menu to you at Summit.
1549 Ike Brooks Drive, Kings Mountain
Veronet Vineyards is perfectly situated to take in the view of Crowders Mountain State Park. The tasting room is spacious and welcoming, and their curated selection of wines range from hearty reds to delicate whites.

The Bottle Tree’s globally inspired fair and eclectic cocktails are served in the cozy confines of the yellow house on Davis Street. Their menu is curated based on what’s fresh and local at the time, so features change often.
The Valentine’s Day special: The Bottle Tree is offering the same deal both Friday and Saturday nights. For $125/per couple, you get three courses, a bottle of select wine or two zero-proof cocktails, and a professional photo. The exact menu will depend on what fresh, local ingredients Chef sources.

Grape and Barley helps expose wine and beer lovers to new styles and producers with every day tastings and organized events. The bottle shop is well stocked with a wide selection to take home what you love. And most of all, it’s a great place to hang out with cozy decor and friendly staff.
The Valentine’s Day special: This one is actually a pre-Valentine’s Day special offered on Wednesday, February 12th. For $15/pp or $20/per couple, enjoy 4 to 5 tastings, including sparkling wine and a bourbon barrel-aged red, each paired with a different chocolate dessert.
Pro tip: Grape and Barley often keeps some higher-end wines in their dispensing machine, so it’s a great chance to try something unusual without committing to a full glass or bottle.
36 North Main Street, Belmont
Nellie’s Southern Kitchen is an homage to the Jonas family matriarch and all the things that made her home amazing: food, music, and hospitality. The menu is set squarely in the tradition of hearty southern food.
The Valentine’s Day special: Nellie’s is offering three specials on Friday. First is a smoked mushroom and shrimp pasta. Then a 6-ounce fillet and southern-style crab cake. Finally, a bone-in pork chop served with bacon and brown sugar Brussel sprouts and sweet potato mash.

Grille Works is known for large portions of perfectly cut and cooked beef, but their menu covers everything from substantial salads to pasta and burgers.

When Webb Custom Kitchen moved into the old Webb Movie Theater, they maintained the elegance of the building's historic golden age.
