8 Independence Day Celebrations in Gaston County


Celebrating the Fourth of July in Gaston County isn’t a one day event.

In fact, the festivities last the entire week.


What can you expect?


Rides, live music, contests, food trucks (lots of food trucks), yoga classes, races, classic cars, baseball games, parades (on land and water), and, of course, plenty of fireworks.

We’ve curated a list of these Gaston County Independence Day celebrations so you can enjoy them all.

Cramerton’s Independence Day Celebration

Location: Goat Island Park

Date: Saturday, June 29

Time: 5pm (fireworks at 9:15 pm)


Cramerton’s Independence Day Celebration kicks off with a unique kind of parade. Area paddlers dress their kayaks, canoes, and stand up paddleboards in their all-American best, then paddle the Southfork to downtown Cramerton.


The evening continues with live music, food trucks, a kids craft area, and lawn games.

Fireworks cap off the evening. Admission is free.

USNWC Fourth of July Celebration

Location: U. S. National Whitewater Center

Dates: Wednesday, July 3 and Thursday, July 4

Time: all day (fireworks at 9:30pm both nights)


Events at the USNWC are always epic, and their 4th of July Celebration is no different. The schedule includes several yoga classes, live music, and a stand up paddleboard race on the whitewater! Plus, two nights of fireworks.


Of course, there’s plenty of food and drink available. Admission is free, and parking is $6.

Pro tip: You can see their fireworks fairly well from the Catawba. So paddle, row, or motor you watercraft for a front bank seat.


Red, White, and Belmont

Location: Stowe Park and S. Main Street

Date: Thursday, July 4

Time: 4pm (fireworks at 9:45pm)


Come for the pup parade, stay for the fireworks!


Belmont knows how to throw a street party. This special edition of their Summer Concert Series features live music from Java Band, a patriotic pup parade, inflatable water rides, food, and kids events. Admission is free.

Gastonia Grizzlies Independence Day Fireworks

Location: Sims Legion Park

Date: Wednesday, July 3

Time: 7:05pm (fireworks follow the game)


What could be more American than baseball and fireworks on the Fourth of July?

Watch the Gastonia Grizzlies take on the Forest City Owls, grab some snacks, then stick around for a fireworks display.

Cherryville 4th of July Celebration

Location: Mini park on Main Street

Date: Wednesday, July 3

Time: 6pm (fireworks at 10pm)


Downtown Cherryville comes alive on July 3rd with Beach Music melodies from The Entertainers. Throw in some food trucks and a fireworks display, and you’ve got a great way to celebrate our Independence Day. Admission is free!

Gastonia Fourth of July Celebration

Location: Rotary Centennial Pavilion

Date: Thursday, July 4

Time: 5pm (fireworks at 9:30pm)


How about this for a 4th of July celebration: 11 food trucks, live music, DJ, fireworks, beer garden, and rides!

That’s how they do the 4th in downtown Gastonia. And no charge for admission to it all!

Dallas Concerts and Cruise-Ins, 4th of July Edition

Location: Cloninger Park

Date: Thursday, July 4

Time: 6pm


The town of Dallas is bringing the rhythm to this Fourth of July with two bands, Image and Hotwired, playing R&B and soul music live. Fireworks follow the live performance. Admission is free.

Stanley Town Celebration

Location: Harper Park

Date: Friday, July 5

Time: 5pm (fireworks at 9pm)


Head to Stanley and keep those Fourth of July vibes going into the weekend. The town holds its Independence Day Celebration on Friday this year. So you’ll have one more chance for fireworks.
